The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will be an affordable off-road option for drivers who appreciate the performance and tech in the F-150 Tremor and Raptor, but not the price tag. Ford will offer the Rattler on the F-150 XL trim with features common to the FX4 Package. The Rattler will also feature unique exterior badging with colors and accents with a desert-like theme, making it a unique option in the F-150 lineup.
Impressive Off-Road Performance
The Ford F 150 Rattler specs will be similar to those on the F-150 XL trim. The standard engine is the 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. However, Ford likes to give truck shoppers engine options, so Rattler buyers can choose the 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque or the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The Rattler will also have standard four-wheel drive and a throaty dual exhaust system.
As the Rattler is designed for off-road fun, it will come standard with skid plates, hill-descent control, an electronic locking rear differential, off-road shock absorbers, and 18-inch aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires.
Well-Equipped With Safety And Tech Features
On the inside, the F-150 Rattler will have a unique look with Onyx seats with bronze accents and stitching to resemble the desert rattlesnake. The exterior color choices include Oxford White, Avalanche, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Stone Gray, Agate Black, and Rapid Red TriCoat. The entry-level full-size truck will have rattlesnake-inspired graphics on the fender vents and near the instrument panel.
As the Rattler will be built on the XL trim, interior features are expected to include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The 2023 model year should also have several Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assistive features like a Rearview Camera, Forward Collision Warning, and Forward Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.
As part of the FX4 Off-Road Package, the F-150 Rattler should also come with tray-style floor liners and a Rock Crawl driving mode making it a capable off-road vehicle and rugged daily driver.
